The second of the four daughters of an Italian father and an Australian mother, Natalie grew up on the Central Coast, North of Sydney, Australia. As a teenager she played a role in the soap Neighbours before venturing into a singing career.
Her first single, "Torn", reached number 2 in the UK charts and became the most played song on the radio in 1998. "Torn" is originally written by Anne Preven, Scott Cutler and Phil Thornalley.

THERE’S SO MANY PEOPLE
This song is about now, modern life, it’s about justice, and freedom, and equality. nothing has really changed in our modern world, we are all going backward. People should not have to suffer in this day and age, they should have basic living rights, to live in their own country, to have a home, hot and cold water, fair pay, good housing, people should be able to support their selves and their families. Build a good community. For themselves, to live of their land and to just be civilised human beings. Who want to better themselves, to evolve to make a better world for all.
